Chianti Classico DOCG 2014

Setriolo

Setriolo is one of the smallest farms in the Chianti Classico wine area. Located on the hills of Castellina in Chianti and entirely surrounded by natural woods that create a natural habitat for vines and olive trees. The farm was purchased in 1989 by Gianfranco Soderi. Native to Castellina but emigrated as a young man for work needs, first to Spain and then to Venezuela. Once retired he managed to fulfill the dream of returning to live in his beloved hills. Today it is the daughter Susanna who tirelessly pursues her father's project, who unfortunately passed away in 2003.

The company logo is a centuries-old olive tree, one of the few in the area to have survived the frost that in 1985 wiped out about 80% of Tuscan olive trees. When, between 1999 and 2005, it was decided to replant the vineyards, some rows were interrupted precisely to make room for the 'wisdom' of this natural monument. This, among other things, symbolizes the great love for nature and respect for the tradition that Susanna and her mother cultivate in this little corner of paradise.
