Vernaccia di San Gimignano

Cappella di Sant'Andrea

The Cappella di Sant’Andrea farm was bought by Giovanni Leoncini in the 1950s. The cellar was built in the 1990s. In those years the ancient sharecropping system was dying out and farms were being sold or transformed into farms. It was when Giovanni and his daughter Antonella decided to implement the production and build a new cellar.

Today his niece Flavia and her husband Francesco manage the farm with love and wisdom. Together they made the decision to convert the production to organic farming and even reintroduced farm animals, thus stimulating the vitality of the land thanks to closed-cycle fertilization. The farm in some respects seems to have gone back in time to when it was simply a sharecropping farm.

Cappella di Sant’Andrea's Vernaccia's are today among the most popular in the area, precisely because the company has been able to combine a certain innovation with respect for tradition.
